Category: Jobs and Employment
Heya all,
I'm currently looking for a job, and one of my friend's suggested me to go online and look up web sites where you can work from home. I did that, however the problem is knowing what sites are real and what sites are just scams. I'm very skeptical when it comes to this, I'm not even sure if working from home is for me however I thought I'd post this out on the board.
How can you keep from not getting, "scammed?" Where can you find, "lagitament," work at home sites?
Thanks guys
well hey this is babygurl and i know for sure one that is legit and it is call nhcd all you have to do is pay 19.00 a month and that is for the unlimited longdistance through them so you make sure you are not billed for anything
I'm honestly not sure. I'm in the smae boat, and I'm definitly watching this topic to see what people suggest. I've seen mro enad more that companys are starting to outsource their sales and support jobs to work at home people.
I haven't seen DougS on here lately, but I know he works at home for Sears. Maybe send him a PM and see if he can give you more info? That is if he even checks his PM's these days.
Many work at home opportunities require capital to start up your own business, however it is true that many are outsourcing to homeworkers now. It might be worth investigating companies and making speculative contact to see if they have any such vacancies.
I am looking as well if any suggestions please let me know.
Perhaps call your state rehab agency or local rehab center? The center where I work recently got grant money and we hired someone to specifically help people find home-based employment. So ask around and there may be a similar program in your area.
A lot of medical transcription is at home these days, but it's not something that just anyone can decide to do today and start doing tomorrow.
I got a job with a small newspaper in Tx from www.tjobs.com. it costs customer service, sales, programming, and other typeso of tele-commuting work listed. no business opportunities, just actual jobs that cost no money to begin.
$15 one time fee to join, but htere are lots of good customer
i want a job where you can work from home as well!
Hmmm...$15 to start? How about poor college kids where $10 could be your next meal? Just a speculation.
well, do you want to work or not?
Sometimes you have to invest a little to get something. Most good things in life aren't free.
Anyway, I am sure you can find free sites out there, I just had good luck with this site and thought it was worth it.
Hi all!
If you are interested in working from home, try this website:
http://www.workathomeunited.com/mistybradley
Do you work here? I read it and It doesn't say what exactly you'll be doing. Can you fill me in?
Another site I just found out about is www.nticentral.org. They work with state rehab agencies to help disabled people find work at home opportunities.
the unfortunate thing about NTI however is that there aren't actual jobs for people who are totally blind. if you have some vision it might be a good shot for you but if totally blind, not so much unfortunately.

Hi AngelKisses and everyone else. The website I gave is for a wellness company that I work with. If anyone wants more info, they can fill out the form on the website, and I can contact them with more info on what kind of work I do, and you can listen to a presentation that gives you all the details.
Thanks,
Misty Bradley

I have a job. Howeber it wood be nice to have something on the side.
WWW.wahm.com has a weekly updated list for free lance type work at home opps. It's usually easier to find something accessible, and/or part time when checking out there listings.
Hi,
I tried to apply to ACD Direct. I got in with my application and was chosen for an interview, but I was rejected because they wanted me to read a script that they gave me a link to and I couldn't do it because I was trying to listen to JAWS and say the script at the same time. I don't know why they made us do this because they had already given us a script to read when we applied, and at least I had time to Braille that one and then read it, but in this interview I didn't get the script ahead of time so I could Braille it. I also notice that a lot of telecommuting call center jobs require you to do a test which would be fine if it was actually accessible and didn't require you to see pictures.
Anyway, that is what my experience is with work at home, although I would like to find out about a work at home job that is accessible and would give me a full time income if I am able to put in full time hours or whatever.
Misty
well misty, it looks like you and i work for the same wellness company, except my website is Http://www.freedomunitedteam.com/kh8108. note( this website doesn't explain what you'll be doing. to find out more visit the website, and click the request more info link and once their, fill out your contact info, and a team member will contact you. If anyone's interested, visit the website listed and follow the instructions. thanks.
I found a site recently. they go by invitation only but you can contact them and might be able to start. A web site comes with it. If you love doing research and writing posts and articles you will love this. If you start and have trouble I can help. It does have a start up fee though. www.writezilla.org and www.postzilla.org These sites are part of www.igomogul.com. Your blog site will be www.atomword.com. You probably only need to contact one of the first sites.
I recently started doing some surveys online. There are a lot of sights that are free to sign up for, and all you have to do is fill out surveys, which, for the most part, are all right, accessibility wise. however, I haven't had such good luck with them, and not sure if I'd recommend them. A lot of times what happens is its hard to qualify for some of them, and some are not accessible. Also some of them you're required to buy things, and so haven't had a lot of good luck with it.
yes same here about the survey sites. I hardly am able to ever qualify for a survey.
Well, i joined this thing called cash crate.com they pay out on the 15th of every month.
